Gov. Sim Fubara  In a pivotal moment for Rivers State’s political landscape, Governor Siminalayi Fubara’s defiance against the Nigerian Police and their alleged interference in the State’s local government elections shines a spotlight on the deepening conflict between state sovereignty and judicial overreach. Fubara’s refusal to abide by the Federal High Court’s “fraudulent “judgment from justice peter Lifu, coupled with his dramatic confrontation with Inspector General of Police (IGP), Kayode Egbetokun, exposes the growing divide between state leadership and federal judicial decisions that seem to overstep constitutional boundaries. At the core of this battle stands the Otisi panel’s recent ruling, which nullified the Federal High Court’s decision, which sought to bar the Rivers State Electoral Commission (R...

WORLD EXCLUSIVE: Inside the secret Abacha memo approving execution of Ken Saro-Wiwa, others - Ini Ekot

WORLD EXCLUSIVE: Inside the secret Abacha memo approving execution of Ken Saro-Wiwa, others By Ini Ekott — December 30, 2012 In November 1995, while an overwhelming international outcry mounted against the execution of the Ogoni leader, Ken Saro-Wiwa and his colleagues, defiant military dictator, Sani Abacha, backed by a small band of military officers, convinced themselves that executing them, swiftly, was the best way to resolve the Ogoni unrest “once and for all”, and to make it clear to Nigerians and the world the authoritarian regime was no weakling. A recording of the final meeting, where the decision to hang Mr. Saro-Wiwa and eight of his associates was taken, said, two days before the execution, Mr. Abacha told members of the Provisional Ruling Council, PRC, the regime’s highest decision making body, that the activists deserved no sympathy, and that hanging them would stem further discontent and prove to the world the regime was bold and courageous. “He was of the...

*Africa's biggest problem is its leadership.*

The biggest conspiracy against the growth and dominance of Africa and Africans is not the work of Bill Gates, Monsanto, 5G, the Coronavirus or imperialists or colonialists. It is not Donald Trump, China, Boris Johnson or Queen Elizabeth. It is not a right wing conspiracy, or a left wing conspiracy, neither is it a grand plan of Israel or even the Middle East. *Africa's biggest problem is its leadership.* No world leader, or richest man in the world will use electromagnetic waves or vaccines to kill us. And let me tell you why: 1. In 2018 alone, about 230,000 brand new Toyota Land Cruiser 80 (2018 models) were sold in Africa. Let’s assume that private sector and NGOs bought 50% of those (a very conservative estimate), then it means the other half were bought by African governments. This means that at a very very generous base price of $60,000, $690 Million was spent IN SUB-SAHARAN AFRICA ALONE for governmental bodies and officials to buy JUST TOYOTA LAND CRUISERS! ...

COVID-19: Buhari's address to the Nation, what he said and what he failed to tell Nigerians.

After several weeks of hue and cry by Nigerians calling on the President - General Muhammed Buhari to address the nation in the wake of the Coronavirus pandemic, he finally addressed the nation on March 29, 2020 in what seem like a recorded speech.  Recently, after the Chief of Staff to General Buhari - Mr. Abba Kyari tested positive to the Virus, speculations have been rife that the President may have left the country. This speculation and the fact that the President had not been seen by Nigerians for weeks further increased the clamor by Nigerians for the president to address the nation. Also few days ago, a popular Muslim influencer and reformist Imam - Mohammad Tawhidi took to social media to lash out at President Buhari calling him the “dumbest President” and a defender of the terrorist group – Boko Haram. The popular cleric called on General Buhari to resign for failure to live up to responsibility of protecting Nigerians. And so finally General Buhar...
